Jim Beach

I saw that Today’s Courier Post echos our thoughts about Jim Beach’s lack of character in failing to cast a vote on the Same Sex Marriage Bill.  Here are a few quotes from the Courier Post:

“[W]e can’t understand why 3rd District Sen. Stephen Sweeney, D-Gloucester, the Senate majority leader and soon-to-be Senate president, and 6th District Sen. Jim Beach, D-Camden, did not vote Thursday on the measure despite being present.”

“Leaders don’t abstain on important measures while their colleagues put their political necks on the line and make votes that they know full well will upset one group of constituents or another.”

“There’s no excuse for Sweeney and Beach to have not voted.”

“Sweeney’s and Beach’s Senate colleagues made tough decisions that will alienate them with some voters. Still, they cast their votes. Sweeney and Beach should have had the courage to do the same.”

At least Senator Sweeney had the courage to offer an explanation for his abstention on this controversial bill.  The voters in the 6th legislative district do not even get an explanation.  Jim Beach we are hoping you will share your reasoning for missing this vote.

If you didn’t work to get elected, why go the extra 10% and work while you in the Senate??????
