State Honors U.S. Marine from Cherry Hill who was killed in Afghanistan

January 29, 2010

Lance Cpl. Jeremy Kane

In honor of the brave service and sacrifice of Lance Corporal Jeremy Kane, Governor Chris Christie issued an Executive Order to fly the United States and New Jersey flags at half-staff tomorrow.

According to The Star Ledger, “Kane, 22, died Saturday when a suicide bomber attacked members of the Marines’ 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan, his family said this evening.”

As noted in Executive Order 10 (which can be viewed in its entirety here):

Lance Corporal Kane’s patriotism and dedicated service to his country and his fellow soldiers make it appropriate and fitting for the State of New Jersey to remember him and his family, to mark his passing, and to honor his memory.

The CCGOP would like to extend our sincerest condolences to Lance Corporal Kane’s family, and thank him for his bravery and duty. Further, we appreciate and acknowledge the state for honoring the memory of Lance Corporal Kane’s life and service.
