Christie to NJEA: Shared Sacrifice for the Education of our Children (Video)

March 25, 2010

Chris Christie released a video outlining the shared sacrifice we need to have in order to create a sustainable top quality education system for our children.  Our Governor has challenged our teachers to forgo a raise for  one year and contribute 1.5% of their salary to pay for their health benefits.  If the teachers will agree, our tax burden will not increase.

Below is Christie’s video:

I have a problem with asking teachers to for go a raise for one year and pay a percentage for their health insurance. They won’t even get a cost of living. Teacher as it is don’t make enough money now. Teaching is one profession where there always dumped on. They have degrees but never get the proper salary increases or respect they deserve. In no other profession is there such low tactics. I don’t see Christie sacrificing his salary for the public welfare. But I do see him cutting everything else. What about Christie stands on Charters Schools who are not held accountable for anything! Isn’t it funny they get vouchers and the students carry the vouchers to the Charter schools then the Charter kick most of students back with out the vouchers. Where is this far? The Charter Schools take the taxpayers dollars and have no one to answer to. ?
Support NJEA and the Public School of New Jersey. Christie what are you thinking ?
