Runyan Challenges Adler to Denounce WH Advisor’s Support of Higher Taxes

April 7, 2010

Yesterday at a New York Historical Society Event, White House Adviser Paul Volcke suggested that the “United States should consider raising taxes to help bring deficits under control and may need to consider a European-style value-added tax.”

Now, NJ3 Congressional candidate Jon Runyan is calling on John Adler to step up and take a stand against against the “tax-first-ask-questions-later philosophy” propagated by members of the Obama Administration.

Said Runyan:

“John Adler was a serial tax-raiser in Trenton, and he voted for both the disastrous $1 trillion stimulus bill and the cap-and-trade national energy tax in Washington. That’s why I feel it’s so important that I publicly challenge him today to go on the record disavowing this massive tax increase scheme immediately. If he fails to do so, his silence will tell overburdened taxpayers in New Jersey all they need to know about his intentions.”

Runyan punctuated the demand by promising , “If I am elected to Congress, I will never vote for a tax increase. Ever.”
