Haddon Heights Community Center Grand Openging!

April 22, 2010

Please join Mayor Scott Alexander, Council President Rose Fitzgerald, Councilmen Ed Forte, Kathy Lange, and Dan Haggerty for the Haddon Heights Commnity Center & Service Operations Grand Opening and Health Fair.  The Grand Opening will be Saturday, April 24th, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Rain or Shine)

Join us at Lippincott Lane between West Atlantic and Seventh Avenue.

You will not want to miss the ribbon cutting on the new Community Center and Service Operations Facility.  All are welcome to attend.  The Service Operations Facility, formerly the NJ American Water Company on West Atlantic Avenue, will house the Department of Public Works garage and their equipment, which will be on display.  The new offices of Construction and Zoning will also be open.

As the first-of-a-kind building for Haddon Heights, the Community Center on Lippincott Lane is a place for all residents of Haddon Heights to come together for community events, programs and recreation.  The Senior Citizen’s Room will be exclusively dedicated to the senior residents of Haddon Heights to allow for entertainment, fellowship and solace in everyday life.

The Borough of Haddon Heights has also joined the Mayors Wellness Campaign, a new effort to help the State’s communities get on the path to active living and healthier lifestyles and increase opportunities for residents to participate in daily physical activity.  The Borough is beginning to develop recreational activities for all segments of our Borough including youth, families and seniors and sign-up forms will be available that day.

Visitors can tour the Community Center, Service Operations Facility as well as the newly renovated Log Cabin across the street in Hoff’s Park.  A moon bounce will be available for the children.  This event is geared towards children and adults of all ages and refreshments will be served.  Additional parking will be available at the Methodist Church parking lot, Seventh and Garden Streets.  Come on out and join in the celebration!
