Christie vs Sweeney: Who Wins this Showdown?

May 15, 2010

Chris Christie and Anne Patterson

On May 3rd Governor Chris Christie nominated  Anne Patterson to become an associate justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court.  Governor Christie decided not to re-appoint Associate Justice John E. Wallace, Jr.,

New Jersey Senate President Stephen Sweeney, a longtime supporter of Wallace, said he would block Governor Chris Christie’s choice of Anne Patterson.  The New Jersey Constitution requires a hearing and vote for Supreme court nominees and still Sweeney refuses to hold a confirmation hearings on Anne Patterson.

That brings us to our Saturday Question:

I believe most of the electorate is behind Gov. Christie. This state has been taken down the liberal path for entirely too long. We are ready for more freedom and less taxes in this state. I believe Gov. Christie is the man to bring us that. After all, that’s why he was voted into office.
