Don’t get out the seersucker suit and straw hat just yet.  This summer could be freezing.  Wage freezing!

Governor Christie continues to push to provide real fiscal reform in New Jersey.  Part of his sweeping reform has been a one year pay freeze for public school teachers.  There is no shortage of coverage for this idea.  Below are links to just a few of the news stories on his public teacher pay freeze proposal.

Ok Ok you get the idea!  Actually the teacher wage freeze is hardly new or news in New Jersey.  What is new and interesting is the national adoption of the idea.

In Congress Rep. Michele Bachmann [R-MN6] introduced H.R. 5382: To provide for a temporary freeze on the pay of civilian employees of the Federal Government.  The bill has been refered to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. The idea of shared sacrifice in hard economic times must really be catching on nationwide.  Before we get too excited, don’t expect Rob Andrews and John Adler to embrace this bill.  They both are still very liberal and love spending tax dollars. But lets not lose sight of the fact that financial reform started here in New Jersey is leading the way nationally.
