DRPA Official Resigns in Toll Scandal

July 28, 2010

Camden County Democrat darling, Michael Joyce, resigned from his more than $180,000 a year  Delaware River Port Authority director job. Joyce was the Director of Public safety for the DRPA.  Domenick DiCicco previously requested US Attorney, Paul Fishman investigate allegations of inappropriate use of an E-Z Pass transponder.

DRPA Vice Chairman, Camden County Freeholder, Jeffrey Nash declined Tuesday to comment on Joyce’s resignation.  He did tell the Courier Post the DRPA expects “…..to release new initiatives this week that will ‘shake up the operations of the DRPA’.”

Isn’t that just like the Camden County Freeholder Board “no comment” but let me tell you about a “new initiative”.  Don’t be surprised if in the near future Mr. Joyce has another fa cat job funded directly or indirectly with public funds ….aka..your money.  We need and expect better.  We need Governor Christie to clean house.

    That is progress.
    Shake em up!!

Tollpayers and taxpayers need relief from the NJ Delegation’s use of DRPA as a cash cow for croney contracts and political patronage.

    Next? Nash!

Just because Mr. Joyce resigned doesn’t mean the DRPA shouldn’t be looked into. Using an unauthorized EZ-Pass is probably small peanuts compared to the other misuse, theft and fraud they may find. Keep digging! He resigned to stop the “peeping toms” from peering behind the curtains of the DRPA. A full investigation and audit of the books is in order. ” Calling Governor Christie… where are you….Come see what we found……..”

This is one among many, its just the beginning, its an eye opener. I am told that this guy’s salary is like three times his colleagues in other states. Shake them up and clean this the place. There is no room for this in the present economy.
