John Adler, What Happened To Your “Recovery Summer”?

August 8, 2010

Summer is Almost Over and the Economy is Still Bleeding Jobs

John Adler

The Obama White House promised this would be a summer of economic recovery, but after another disappointing month of high unemployment it is evident that is simply not the case. Now, New Jersey families can add another false promise to their growing list of grievances against John Adler and an out-of-touch Democrat majority, whose runaway spending addiction has led the economy astray. With unemployment standing at 9.5 percent and over 130,000 jobs lost last month, New Jersey families are feeling burned by Adler and his Washington friends, whose trillion-dollar stimulus has failed to bring them out of this jobless recovery.

“With the country’s unemployment rate at a staggering 9.5. percent, the summer heat isn’t the only thing leaving middle-class families feeling burned by John Adler and his Washington friends,”

said NRCC Communications Director Ken Spain.

“Democrats promised a summer of economic recovery, but another month of high unemployment indicates otherwise. And while New Jersey families realize that Adler’s failed economic policies are not going to lead them out of a jobless recovery, his party’s repeated empty promises are nothing but insulting.”

Even though this is supposed to be a summer of recovery, jobless claims rose last week to the highest level since April:

“Initial requests for jobless benefits rose last week to their highest level since April, a sign that hiring remains weak and some companies are still cutting workers. The Labor Department said Thursday that new claims for unemployment insurance rose by 19,000 to a seasonally adjusted 479,000.”

“’But the jump in claims is a cautionary sign that higher corporate profits and a slowly recovering economy aren’t spurring companies to generate many jobs. ‘The very unyielding flow of layoffs now clearly evident discourages any thought that employers are more comfortable with the size of their staffs,’ Pierre Ellis, an economist at Decision Economics, wrote in a note to clients.”

(“New jobless claims take surprise jump,” Associated Press, 8/05/2010)

As a result of the Democrats’ failed policies, an ‘anemic’ economy is underperforming once again:

“U.S. employment fell for a second straight month in July as more temporary census jobs ended while private hiring rose less than expected, pointing to an anemic economic recovery.

“Non-farm payrolls fell 131,000 the Labor Department said on Friday as temporary jobs to conduct the decennial census dropped by 143,000.”

(“Jobs Picture Worsens with 131,000 Job Losses; 9.5% Rate,” Reuters, 8/6/10)

As the economy continues to feel the consequences of the Democrats’ failures, New Jersey families are wondering: Where are the jobs?

Obama and the Reid/Pelosi (Adler a cog in the machine) Liberal machine had TWO PRIORITIES coming into office in Jan 2009…first they immediately voted themselves a big barrel of pork called Stimulus (about $1 trillion dollars and put it straight on the Fed debt line) and provided it out to Democrats to payoff their special interest groups for stealing the 2008 election. Their SECOND PRIORITY was the Progressive Socialist Agenda…and at the top Obamacare – Universal Healthcare – the Holy Grail of Progressives. They then said, “forget the economy, forget job creation, forget foreign relations, forget border security, forget national security etc….forget everything but THE AGENDA! Obama, Pelosi and Reid spent all the government energy in 2009 and early 2010 on Obamacare…the quest for the Holy Grail. And in the end against the will of the American people they crammed it through. Then early 2010 they turned to Financial Reform and also Energy Cap and Tax…note…Where is the great concern about jobs and the economy?? There wasn’t any…it was always the AGENDA that was important…the American people can wait…Obama/Pelosi/Reid have their priorities…and its NOT what’s good for Americans…And now after all the neglect the economy is flatlining…what a surprise!

Liberal Democrats like John Adler talk the economy but WORK THE AGENDA. America is sick of this kind of so-called Hope and Change leadership! Whenever we mention Pelosi…remember she does not deliver liberal agenda items without her voting lapdogs in the House. And John Adler is one….he has signed on to well over $2 trillion in Fed spending already…with nothing to show for it but INCREASED DEBT and a pat on the head from Pelosi!

Jobs? Who cares about Jobs? Give Johnny a break. His campaign has been too busy organizing (and then dodging responsibility for) the bogus Teaparty campaign. Johnny is still new. We can’t expect him to have all the moves of “San Francisco Rob” Andrews over in the 1st district with all his Pelosi/Norcross support. It takes years to perfect the roles of lapdog and bag carrier. Just give Johnny some time.

Johnny can have as much time as it takes to pack up his stuff and get out! He has demonstrated his capability to do Pelosi and Obama’s bidding as lap dog in the world of Tax and Spend Liberals. OK, good for him…but he should not being doing THAT from a strong Republican district, like D-3. Let’s go people, Johnny just ain’t our kinda guy…throw him OUT Nov 2.

This administration and it’s policies that the majority of American’s reject is a failure. The far left experiment in marxism for this country is over. Now let us dig ourselves out of this fiscal mess.
