DiCicco to Unveil Legislation to Reform the DRPA

WHAT: Legislators from New Jersey and Pennsylvania will unveil legislation to change the federal charter of the Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA).  The authority has come under fire in recent weeks for misuse of public dollars and unethical conduct.  Recent revelations include the misuse of E-ZPass transponders by a former top agency official, inappropriate use of agency vehicles and the agency’s refusal to implement an expanded ethics code seven years ago.  The bi-state legislation will address Governor Chris Christie’s recommendations to the DRPA, including: growing concerns regarding political contributions, conflicts of interest, company perks, nepotism and part-time jobs by high-paid public employees.   

WHO: N.J. Assemblyman Domenick DiCicco (R-Gloucester and Camden) and Pennsylvania Rep. Mike Vereb (R-Montgomery), as well as several outside organizations.
