Chief Justice Rabner Appoints New Justice for New Jersey Supreme Court.

New Jersey Chief Justice Stuart Rabner today signed an Order wherein he temporarily assigned Judge Edwin H. Stern, Presiding Judge for Administration of the Appellate Division,  to the New Jersey Supreme Court.  Stern will fill the vacancy left by Justice John Wallace.  Below is a copy of Chief Justice Rabner’s Order.

SUPREME COURT OF NEW JERSEY

 

            The Supreme Court having six members and one vacant position as the start of the 2010-2011 court term approaches; and

            It appearing necessary to assign a judge to serve temporarily in the Supreme Court;

            IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDERED, pursuant to the authority set forth in Article VI, section II, paragraph 1 of the New Jersey Constitution, that Judge Edwin H. Stern, Presiding Judge for Administration of the Appellate Division, shall be assigned temporarily to the Supreme Court effective September 8, 2010, and until further Order, to participate in new matters presented for the Court’s consideration.
