December 17, 2010

Runyan would have preferred income tax cuts be made permanent.

Congressman-elect Jon Runyan (NJ-3) released the following statement today regarding the bipartisan tax cut measure agreed upon last night in the House and expected to be signed by President Obama this afternoon:

“Congress did the right thing for our struggling economy last night by voting overwhelmingly to extend tax cuts for all Americans,”

said Runyan, who pledged to press for reduced spending and smaller government as a Member of Congress.

“While I personally would have liked to see the income tax cuts made permanent to provide greater certainty to individuals and business owners in these highly uncertain times, I am supportive of the bipartisan compromise struck by President Obama and congressional Republicans as a step in the right direction that will help create jobs and spark economic growth.”
