It Snowed and where was Mayor Platt?

January 12, 2011

As our region got hit with another snow storm we are reminded of last year’s massive storms that just seemed to never end. We remember the plows out in Cherry Hill, Gloucester Township, Collingswood, and in other parts of our county last year out plowing the roads and laying salt on the roads. It seemed as if the snow would never stop. Now as this year’s snowseason is upon us, we are left to ponder where our elected leaders in Cherry Hill, Gloucester Township, and Collingswood were when the snow hit? Last year Cherry Hill Township was told their mayor was in a plow when in fact he was in Florida.

Last year Bernie was in Florida basking in the warmth of the sun while everyone in Cherry Hill was told he was in a plow truck. As we all know this was not true disappointing to all of us we learned that Mayor Bernie spends a nice stint of time hanging out in Florida in the winter while the people of Cherry Hill are dealing with ice, snow, salt,  high taxes,  poor roads, and lack of leadership.  Where in the world was Bernie during this snow storm?

Where was the Mayor of Gloucester Township?  Was Mayor Blackberry in town or out-of-town? As he raises taxes will the township be plowed or will Mayor Blackberry be staying warm somewhere other than Gloucester Township. Will he be running the Gloucester Township from his Blackberry or will he be with the people helping plow the roads and keeping the roads safe for the people.

And, what about our friend Jim Maley in Collingswood? Where was he this time? Residents from Collingswood notice that with the latest storm that only came last week Collingswood was poorly plowed and it that Maley’s street was one of the first streets to be plowed. We can only speculate why this would be.

Some may say the snow is the least of the Worries in Collingswood.  The borough that is mortgaged up to its eye balls and yet Jim Maley insists on giving money away under a “rebate plan”.   the town had to lay off police to save on budget concerns yet the Borough was able to keep the Borough Administrator.  So will Mayor Maley be out there with the crews and helping to plow, administering the needs of the town or will that be left to the Borough Administrator. Why do you need a mayor and Administrator?

Where are they? Is Bernie going to say “Hi from Florida”, is Mayor Blackberry administers the needs of Gloucester Township from his phone, and will Maley be anywhere to be found? As a result of all their hard work property taxes have risen and more and more people feel the squeeze of living in towns that are becoming less affordable.  So where in the world are Bernie, Mayer, and Maley as the residents cope with and mother nature in our community? Maybe they can learn from Governor Christie, roll up their sleeves and get to work for the people.

We should ask Dan Keshen. I’m sure he’ll give us the facts and nothing but the facts.

What’s next, the Oaklyn Mayor governs from a remote location? Certainly is nice to see people that aren’t even affected by the recession. Kinda makes you go hmmmmmm.

We had the same problem in Waterford Twp. A six inch snowstorm and our streets are still horrible. Were only plowed in the center once. Our democrat Mayor Condo is too busy with illegal meetings and backroom deals.
